Dr Mark Porter

Mark is one of the most experienced media medics in the UK. Since joining the BBC in 1992, he has worked on all the corporation's various media. He currently presents Radio 4's flagship medical programme Case Notes and has recently taken over from Dr Thomas Stuttaford as the medical correspondent for The Times.
 
Mark spent 5 years in a variety of hospital specialities before moving into General Practice in 1990, where he still works part-time.  He is 46, a keen runner and tennis player, and lives in the Cotswolds with his wife Ros and their two teenage daughters.

Mark was appointed MBE in 2005 for his services to medicine.
